Wrapped-N-Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative
"A Pink ME UP Day" Goes A Long Ways…
Honor Survivors with Our “Pink Me Up Days”
only 22 years old
Hi, I’m Anita, Founder of the Wrapped-N-Pink Breast Cancer
Awareness Organization. I’m also a thirty- five-year, two-time breast cancer survivor. At the young age of twenty-two, I found a
lump on my breast and eventually made an appointment to see my doctor. He scheduled me to return the next week to
perform a biopsy on my breast, but when
he told me it would involve sticking a needle in my breast I didn’t return for
the appointment. I was afraid of needles and waited an entire year to
return. When I finally returned, I was diagnosed
with breast cancer and was not expected to survive a year.
Thirty-five years later, I’m still here by the GRACE of GOD.
I lost my hair, my breast and was told I may even lose my life. The doctors said, my life would never be the same.
And they were right, my life has been stronger, and more prosperous than
I could have ever imagined.
Over the years, I received help from family members, organization’s,
and breast cancer support groups to assist me along my journey. And for over
twenty years I have returned the blessings to others through my organization.
My vision is
to inspire breast cancer survivors to embrace life with their fullest potential. I am blessed to share my testimony through
speaking engagements, art, and writing.
When I founded my Wrapped-N-Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Organization, I
knew it would allow me to touch the lives of survivors in a special way through our initiatives in our communities.
